In 2004 the ban on smoking in the workplace was introduced in the Republic of Ireland, this was followed in 2006 for Scotland. Similar legislation followed for England (implemented 1 July 2007), Wales (implemented 2 April 2007) and Northern Ireland (implemented 30 April 2007), ensure that you comply with the legislation.
The legislation will affect bars, restaurants and offices as well as many other businesses. Managers will be fined for allowing smokers to light up in their premises, company vehicles and for failing to display no-smoking notices.
All the no-smoking safety signs are guaranteed to comply with BS 5499-1, BS 5499-5 and the Health & Safety (Safety Signs & Signals) Regulations 1996.
